Hopefully I won't get in trouble for this as i'm not looking to make a business of this but how much would you pay for each of these custom made for your truck. I've had some local wheeler's show interest in me making more and they asked how much but I really don't know where I would start.

Thanks for any help, if this is against the rules i'll remove it.

Is that a handle on the out side of the door and what kinda of metal is that for the tire rack thing... tube, pipe, dom, etc. and what wall.

P-DiseToy24

oh and any pics of the inside of the door.

Talon84x4

The spare mount is pipe, 1 1/4 sch 40. On those doors the inside is left open, I like to use them as trail trash cans

Not a fan of half doors at all, but those look great.  Is that the door latch?  I saw a set mounted on top once and that was pretty slick.

half doors are the best body mod ever and those are some nice ones there! I have no idea how much they would sell for though.... sweet work

That is the latch and it works. The few that have asked me all already have the doors to work on, so all I have to do is get the sheet metal and do the cutting, welding and finish work.

Looks like a nice half door, but I have a question about the latch. It looks well done, but with no windows, the truck is basically open -- why go to the trouble of an outside latch at all? Just reach inside to open the door. Just a thought...

There is no latch on the inside of the door, and it's easier to just open the door from the outside in my opinion. Moving the latch was no trouble for me and on top of that made it different than any other doors i had seen previously.

I'm not saying that the half doors and spare mount would be the exact same as those above, they would be however the person who was paying for them wants them. I'm just trying to get a ball-park figure on what someone would pay to have their doors cut and welded, or how much for a spare carrier of that type.

It really depends on what you want done. Mine were my first pair, took no more than 2 days per side. Others i've worked on have been more complicated.

i've built a few sets and know how much time they take, mine where never near as clean as those and even still they took me atleast 5-6 hours per door. i would say around $200 in labor. they are worth much more than that its just peopl wont pay much more than that.

on a side note my favorite part about half doors is being able to use them as a garbage.
and i know if the handle were on the outside of mine that handle wouldnt last very long.

Having made 1/2 doors, I would say $300-400 for labor/materials(fab-through primer).  You have made your own, so you know how labor intensive they are to end up with a good looking finished product.  I suppose you could offer a cut/weld/grind price of about $200, and leave the body work/paint up to the buyer.

Tire rack maybe $350-450.

I would say $150.00 with out CUP HOLDER - $200.00 with CUP HOLDER
if they supply doors and all materials to make them out of :disturbed:

and the spare at least $295.00

For 450 for the pair!  Mine wouldn't last for four summers, made out of fiberglass :gap:

I'd say 200-250 for a pair of doors for the basic model.

$75-100/door for labor and materials is giving them away, though I guess if you are unemployed or have more time then money you could do it for that amount.

Have you asked those that are interested in your products what they would be willing to pay?

People who think fiberglass is crappy probably have experience with mexican fiberglass (*cough* thanks a lot airtech bastards :shake: ).  I'd also much prefer to fix a broken fiberglass door or panel than a metal part, much easier and quicker to fix  ;)
