accel ignition

i got a accel 300+ iginition off of a mustang, its  universal i think can be switched to a 4 cylinder . does anybody know how to wire this up. i wired it up like it was to the mustang , just changed the setings for a 4 cylinder. and it missed like crazy at a steady throttle,  but idled  fine. put it back to stock and it runs fine (smooth).
