So Matt and I picked up a camper off Craigslist - the price was right (FREE)!!! It needs some help, but we're both handy so we're going to fix it up, personalize it and use it when we take Sierra camping or when we go on long camping trips in the desert in the wind.

You can see above the bed where we need to replace the ceiling and the walls.... minor details. I'm going to make new curtains for it and we're going to sand/paint the outside.

Poker table!!!

was it tough to fix the dry rot? what did you use to patch the roof and walls?

those campers are all the same. all we did is pulled the inside paneling down. then replace the rotten pieces of wood it's 2x2 or something like that. then for the sagging of the roof
get a couple of jacks then a couple of 2x4 or something and go across the front, raise it up to just pass the normal position then rip all the old stuff out then rebuild all the framing and when
you let the jacks down the thing will sit at the normal position. and use roofing tar it works the best. then just put the paneling back on.     complete     IT is all very simple and self explanatory and use the new screws with the rubber grommets.

And studs - I know we're going to have to replace some of the studs as well.

Got some progress done 2 nite.  I tore the inside roof panel off and tore out the insulation.  Took a look at the boards for water damage and dry rot.  I also started to take the bed apart and started to check the electrical.

the center  roof vent.   yes they always leek at some point.   rebuild with the 1xwhat evers.
there might be spots you think could have extra peices added to add strength.  you can even put in a post to  hold every thing up.  have fun and put in a brass pole lol.   use your imagination.   just seal every thing back up.
i love oregon wheelin.
