heater problem 85 4runner sr5
« on: Sep 01, 2009, 07:38:07 PM »
so when i turn on my heater, to the two highest settings, relay makes this buzzing sound, almost like the key in ignition and door open sound. also the motor doesnt work, no air coming out of vents. i replaced the heater relay with one i had lying around. atleast im pretty sure its a heater relay, it had two fuses next to it, one marked a/c one marked heater. any idea what this means? kinda need defrosters.

Sounds like the blower motor might be bad. Unplug it & put power to it & see if it works.

you only have to pull the dash apart to change the heater core.

Blower motor is all the way to the far right and you can pull it out from under the dash.  I think it helps to take the glove box out as well.  IIRC.
