so i was food shopping today and when i came back  to my truck there was a big dent and my tail light is cracked. that pisses me off!

will my insurance fix it or am i SOL

i'd call your agent and tell them what happened, if they are that concerned they can get the video coverage from the shopping center camera's

i would file a police report and get a copy of it for the insurance man.

As far as your insurance fixing it, well, it depends on your coverage including your deductibles. Your agent can tell you.

I'd check it out, but do it in a theoretical matter. 1)  It may not be worth having insurance fix it, depending on how new, etc.  2) you may get dinged for getting it fixed, and it may not be worth it to you.  If you tell insurance co. that you've got a busted tail light and a big dent, they may ding the value of the truck, because it now has body damage.


Insurance companies don't make $ by paying out, they do pretty much anything they can to avoid it, even by setting you up down the road, by having your truck worth less due to parking lot incidents, hail damage, etc.

its better to fix it your self cause if you can get money from your insurance company they will probably raise your rates

okay i worked on it a little today a took out most of the dent there is a smaller one now

as for the tail light i went to the pick and pull and found a 2000 tacoma and pulled it off and it was perfect for my truck. so im pretty happy with how it looks now.

if your really worried about looks, go talk to a someone that does paintless dent repair, its usually fast and easy and we have a guy come do our dealership cars once a month, usually charges any where from 60 to 120 depending on the location and how hard it was to get the dent out...

im not to worryed about it now i got most of it out there is two small creases that i couldent tho.
