It is in Sierra National Forest just south to Yosemite. The link has more information on the trail.

Any specific directions that I should be aware of if trying to go there? (coming from Merced) Looks like an awesome spot!

its up beashore rd, did you guys go to all the lakes,including bear island??

It is pretty straight forward, I didn't have any trouble finding it using the forest service map.

Yep, we went to all the lakes. The pictures with the kids standing on the rock island is at Bare Island Lake.
