My rear pinion seal is leaking. I'm not very stoked about it either as I bought this as a built unit. Anyway, it has a solid pinion spacer, so I believe all I need to do to replace the seal is remove the nut and yoke, then the seal and install the new one(with some lube)and put the yoke back on right? Should I just re-use the old stake nut and turn it back to the same location or buy a new nut and torque it ? This is the rear of my dd with a detroit .

new nut torque it and re stake it. Now others might say use the old nut and tighten itback to the old spot.
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

Do not return it to its original stake, torque it.

What is the proper torque for this setup? No measurement of the rotational resistance of the pinion gear is necessary since there is no crush sleeve right?
