Diff breather Leaking???
« on: Oct 27, 2004, 04:06:36 PM »
I went wheelin the other day and this morning I noticed the front diff breather was oosing fluid out. I was only crawling around slow so what gives? I changed the fluid this morning and the stuff that was in there has the consistency of malt- o- meal, and was dark sludge.     :dunno:

Thanks for the replies, the thing is I just purchased the truck, changed all the fluids EXCEPT the front diff (ran outa gear oil) the rear diff was fine, as was the tranny and t case. But the sludge that came out of the front diff would make the Valdez oil spill look weak. It was extremely thick! Ill do the diesel flush this weekend. I havent had the truck in water since I bought it. Does the front diff turn at all with in 2wd hi?
