4.70 Gear Install Project

Dave and I are working on creating a write up of how to install 4.70 gears. Comments welcome. Please post up if you think of anything to add.

This looks excellent Chris and Dave.  This one pic wouldn't load even after clicking Show Picture a couple of times:

"Remove 4 bolts, remove shifter base or block off-plate depending on model."

First class pictures and explanation.  I hope to do this in the near future.

You should probably mention area's where a press was required to remove some parts. I do like that it is a clean t-case. Looks very professional.

on the shift interlock pin I would recommend showing a picture like this to explain them a bit better......

you also forgot to list a small magent for helping remove the ball detents.

on your reassembly instrutions you don't mention anything about measureing the oil clearnace gap?

Are you talking about the free play the low speed gear has between the output shaft and the main bearing, as determined by the thrust washer?
