$4,000  :o are you kidding me, from the description I'd say $1,000 -$1,200.  Beings your in N Cali you can find way nicer truck than that one for way less, keep looking around you'll find a better deal. The one thing that trucks got going for it is the new engine so my offer is probably a little low

I paid $400 for an 85, probably in worse condition than that one.  Mine's carbed, single cab, base model, and 256K on the truck (probably 40K on the motor)

I'd pass if I were you  :twocents:

For all the stuff that needs to be replaced, $4000 is way to high.  Maybe $1500-$1750 tops.

BLACKDOG

dont even think about paying 4k for that
buddy bought a 89 pickup with 30k on engine 200k on truck for 3200 with a striaght body good paint, and decent interior
only thing missing was a radio

hood cancer, messed up fenders, bad tranny, you guys are nuts !   dude, figure the used price of all the good parts, ie,  front axle, assuming no leaks and no needed repairs,  tcase, assuming in great condition and is the interior show room quality

i would give him maybe $400  but that would be for the tcase and front axle, not the rotted down truck  :nope:

Mak dude,  we all want you to have a toy,  but dudes scamin you,  if the interior is cherry and blows ice cubes out the a/c vents i could see paying 1500-2000  but no more,  not with the things you said it had wrong,  shop around you'll find a gem sitting in someones yard,  thats never had the hubs locked,
like i did 10 years ago  :ladys-man:

it had 80,000 miles on it floor and interior was perfect not a stitch out of place, not a leak anywhere underneath,  and had these badly dry rotted  H78-15 mud and snow tires that "looked" like they came on the truck,  i paid $2750,  and I am the third owner of my truck

i went knockin doors where 85's lived that weren't for sale and came up with an efi :beerchug: for $1200

it had 200k and needed spark plugs and some exhaust! but ran.  It was fun to do and I came out way happy!

Give it a try.  I saw one today that i just about went and talked to just to see what i could sell it for.  don't settle for less of a truck than you want for more $ than you need to pay!

btw high book is $2500 on an 85 runner
