My 4runner has a 5.29 v6 rear with a Detroit and 35's. I assume it's cool to tow my utility trailer that weighs up to 1000lbs or so?
I also plan on towing a tent trailer, so not a ton of tongue weight. Anyone tow with a similar setup?

be prepared to get jiggy in the curves

well, you should be able to let the trailer push you thru the curve :headscratch:

I'm hoping with all of 110hp (at best) I won't have enough power or be able to go fast enough to hurt anything  :turtle3:

I have 35's and an aussie locker in the rear. I tow a 16ft utility trailer with the toys on the back. Close to 3,000 lbs. I have electric brakes but haven't used them in 4yrs or so. I just take it easy on the stops. I even load the trailer up with my son's 4runner, my old sentra. So, I just say take it easy in the close turns(parking lot maneuvers) and use common sense on the freeway and such.

Folks say that every time I tell them what I tow. I even get some crazy looks when I'm towing too. Pound per Pound, these trucks are monsters. But like I said before: use common sense when towing that much weight. I dont know if I'll be able to do that when I install the 63" chevys though. We will see.......

My uncle had an 84 4x4 and he would tow a 2 axle stock trailer with 6 steers in it and he lives up in the hills. No problems and at times it was 1st gear. I just want to make sure I don't hurt the Detroit but it doesn't sound like moderate towing will. Sweet.
