Looking for something built enough to get by, but i plan on adding to whatever i get because im fully aware its going to be near impossible to find a clean truck on 35s+ with dual cases and fairly low miles for my price range, But Im going to check out a rig today that has nothing done to it besides a lift, and if it looks like it will work im just going to work on building it up from there, its an 88 w/ ifs on 33's, so..It has alot of room to grow. But we will see if i like it or not, if not then im still on the hunt.

crawlerdad

I have an 85 that I am looking to part with But I am in So. Cal so it may be further then you want to travel. Its posted and the price is very flexible.

I'm in the same boat as you, it seems like there were much better rigs available a year or so ago.  I'm also looking for 1st gen daily driver/weekend crawler (sas, dual cased, geared, locked, legal & built well), there were some nice ones that went for under $6.5k.

Nicole8045

I know I dont get it, I got an 84 4runner w/ a rebuilt engine, birf eliminator kit, 5.29's on 37's with a pretty clean body last year for 3500$, And I swear i can not find anything like that. I feel like if i had kept it and sold it now I could jack the price up to 6k because thats how much everyone seems to be selling them for. I think im going to resort to slowly building my own thing because I dont have that sort of cash.

Yeah, I was willing to drive far when i had my car to trade, but now that i sold it ive got no way to get down south. Good luck with the sale though.

crawlerdad

I was told to never sell what you have because you will never find what you want. I saw a basic 85 sold for 4500 after it had been rolled. I think you will see prices come down on most things.

3500 has a 22r w/ a fuel injected head, all rebuilt w/ 60k miles on it super clean on 33's with 4inch suspension lift, downey headers, magnaflow exhaust no rust and an alarm system w/ really nice sound system. :)

crawlerdad

Hey good luck!!

I'm wondering if the super high gas prices were related to the cheaper sale prices for far better built rigs (swdiesel, solidaxle16 to name two)?  The economy hadn't tanked hard at that point in time.  Gas prices have been creeping up a bit and I doubt they are going to drop this time, I'm going to be patient, easy when you don't have the dough!
