I play in the mud mostly and some snow. I been using 40's boggers on my 5 different yodas sense 1998. I broke about 4 axle joints in that amount of time. I don't think thats bad. I replaced the broken joints with used ones. But with the stonger joints availble you can get away from the broken axle joints. I have 5.29 V-6 pigs welded front and rear now and have not had any problems with gears. I use to have the 4 cyl pigs and the richmond gears. I broke a set once every two years. Quesition was the gears or the 4cyl carriers. I think it was the richmond gears. I have a buddy that runs 40,s on his yoda with a vortec 4.3 and his truck handles them great. He ran them for 15 years. He also has yoda axles. I think for the added wieght of the 1 ton axles, yoda axles are better. You can update them with so many new parts to gain strength. Also, yoda axles have more ground clearence.

Went to Houghton mi. this Oct. 2nd for a mud bog. The michigan technology university 4x4 club sponsor a bog
I placed 1st in 4/6 cyl class
1st in stock up to 38" tire class
2nd in stock up to 44" tire class
over all had a fun day

My buddies Ford that hauled me to the bog. nice and comfort.

A dozer got stuck while building the pit.

In the open class this truck dirty deeds is the only truck to make a full run.
maybe 900-1000 hp.

STUCK-HIS 2ND RUN

this truck has a yoda axles and frame. motor is 5.3 L chevy carbed coil packed 2005.

STUCK

COUPLE PICS FROM MY RUNS
I USED 38-11wide boggers front and 39.5 18.5 wide in the rear. This setup seemed to work pretty good. We did not have time to put the 39.5 on front for the up to 44 class. but I was still abale to place 2nd. All v-8's in the 38 and 44 class.

STUCK

OTHERSIDE OF THE PIT

my new summit 100 amp alternator
8 mm wire
GM alternator conversion bracket.
I found out the summit alternator does not liked to be soaked in the mud.

some prints from the plates I had cut on a water jet. My buddy welded the 9 in plate to summit fuel. Next he sandwiched the tace fuel pickup with the 8.75 1/8 plate.
If anyone is interested in putting in a fuel in a 2005 taco. Still have to place in the rear of the truck.

I design these in solidworks.

Had TOM WOOD'S build a front drive shaft. 10 inch slip yoke. Seems to fit nice. Built for a 2005 taco transfer case to a dana 44 ford front axle.

updates on the Box my buddy is building at Ironrange welding.
