I will add a small wiring  schematic to this thred for others to use to wire their e-locker its very simple  I am trying to find away to make a copy of the diagram since I do not have a scanner however I got a copy machine that "says" it can print to a mega mem. stick :dunno: lets get started

TRD ELETRIC LOCKING WIRING KIT

PARTS LIST
  • (1) DPDT toggle switch (6 prong)
  • (1) "locked" light (something to show when its on led works fine if thats all you can get)
  • (1) 5 ohm 25 watt resistor (Radio Shack)
  • (1) 15 ft coil of 16/6 trailer cable
  • (1)  2' length 1/4 heat shrink
  • (20) 4" cable ties
  • (20)11"cable ties
  • (10) 18ga. female connectors
  • (2) 5' length 18ga. Wire (red, black)
  • (2) 3' length 18 ga wire (white, green)
  • (1 ) fuse holder
  • (1) 10 amp fuse
  • (1) fuse tap
  • (1) 1/4" ring terminal
  • (12) 18ga. butt connectors
  • (2) 14 to 18ga. Adapter butt connectors

Installation procedure

1.) Install the toggle switch and lock light in a suitable location on the dashboard or console. The toggle switch requires a 1/2" hole, and the locked light requires a 5/16 hole.Make sure the toggle is easy to reach, and the light is easy to see. they do not need to be mounted near one another.

2.) Mount the resistor near the toggle switch. I recommend mounting the resistor on a metal surface as it may become hot and could damage plastic or carpeted surfaces.

3.) Connect the Toyota OEM wiring harness to the eletrical . fasten the loose end of the harness to the frame. Make sure there is enough slack in the harness to allow full droop of the axle.

4.) Cut the factory plug off the loose end of the Toyota harness. ***( I used special tools to remove the end from the plug)*** Useing the connectors and heat shrink tubeing connect the factory Toyota harness to the trailer cable per the wiring diagram. (will post later) Useing the supplied cable ties, rout the cable along the frame and into the cab of the truck near the toggle switch.

5.) peel the small plastic vent hoseback from the end of the Toyota harness and fasten at the  highest point possible useing cable ties.

6.) Useing the supplied connectors wire the remander of the system per the wiring diagram use the supplied fues tap in order to get 12 volts from the fues panel.Tap into the non-fused side of a circut rated at 10 amps or greater. The radio fuse is ideal. The resistor will rewuire soldering the wire to the ring terminals at each end, cover each canection with heat shrink once soldered.

7.)Upon Completion of the wiring, cycle the eletric locker to ensure proper operation. The locked light will only light once the locker is fully engaged. You may need to roll the truck and turn slightly to get the locker to engage.

:bat: DO NOT ROLL YOUR VEHICLE ONTO ITS SIDE OR FLOP IT UPSIDE DOWN  TO GET THE LOCKER TO ENGAGE.

Note:  There are connection diffrences between the high and low pinion wiring as seen in the wiring diagram. The diffrences are located at the connection of the Toyota OEM wiring harness and the connection of the  Trailer wire.  MAKE SURE YOU WIRE YOUR INSTALATION ACCORDING TO WHICH PINION YOU ARE USEING.

THESE INSTALATION INSTRUCTIONS ARE FROM INCHWORM'S KIT

Ok, this is a pretty good thread, I will add my wisdom here on how I did my wiring for both my lockers.

I copied the inchworm kit, you can buy the 16gauge 6 conductor wire at napa for about $1.30 a foot
DO NOT USE THE RESISTOR IN THE INCHWORM KIT, 12v guy never uses one and I trust him more then inchworm
the switch is where I got fancy, I used a carling switch (Identical to what ARB switches are) but I used a momentary DPDT (double pole double throw) switch that had the indicator light wired independently of the switch, so I can wire that light to be the indicator light when the locker locks. The momentary function was so I am not constantly applying power through the wires to the locker when I dont need it.

wire the switch identical to the inchworm diagram and you are good to go for a lot cheaper then their kit...

I used this switch
http://www.otrattw.com/proddetail.php?prod=VLD1A60B-00000-000
and this switch cover
http://www.otrattw.com/proddetail.php?prod=V1D1J66B-AYC80-RL1

OTRATTW is awesome, his shipping is crazy fast and notifications are great...

Thanks again for the info guys. I have created a tech guide on our website on how to properly index the electric locker motor actuator. It is linked on our Tech section under "Installation Guides"

Fwiw, I can get you pn's for the factory harness plugs. I have te wiring repair manual.

From 95-current, you can buy any harness, and any pin that goes it in from the dealership
