I started with an old 1975 FJ40 F2/4SPD. :clap2:

The tub has literally rotted off  :smack:what appears to be a solid frame.

I have a set of 1979 axles setting ready to add disk brakes.

The plan:
1. replace with steel panels on the outside  :help:but replace the floor and wheel wells in aluminum

2. disk brakes oin the front

3. Ditch the ambi doors in the back and go with a hatch from a 74. Close the tub solid in the back for a solid body

4. Fab a cage so tight that it's not in the way. :crossed:

5. add a front facing rear seat with seating mods upfront to allow access

Sounds like a good project. I want to restore/build a FJ40 someday. Someone is bound to say it so let me be the the first...  :gap:

Well you need 12 posts before you can add attachments, or you can make an account on photobucket.com and host them from there for free.
