this is not a runner, it's a trekker.
basicly it's a pickup with the back of the cab cut out and the bed welded to it.
then there's a shell over the bed.
If I remember right, they were made by another company then toyota .

I've seen a couple of those around here. The trekker and the Trail Blazer. One of them has the stock bed with some kind of a filler piece from the cab to bed, and down the side where the bed lip is. I think I saw one of them for sale the other day. It was set up on 35's or 37's, i'll cruise back by that side of town and see if it's still there and let you all know.
I didn't know Wolverine made them too. I thought they just took pre 4wd yotas (78 and earlier) and made them 4wd using J#$@ JUNK. The nerve of some people.

from what i've seen, all trekkers were made from '81(and possibly '80) trucks.  they all had the round headlights of a '79-81 truck.  all the trailblazers i've seen had square headlights, like the '82-83 style

never seen a wolverine from after '78 though.  saw a blue one driving down the road a few months back, and saw one up for sale in autotrader a year or 2 ago.  they're cool looking trucks, though they did have dana 20 cases and dana 30 front axles...but what else could you use back in those days?  the only really small 4x4s with an axle that'd fit under a toyota were jeeps.  i'd love to build a '74-78 body style truck into a 4x4...maybe my next project :beerchug:

there's also datsun 620 trucks and chevy LUVs that were converted to 4x4s commercially before their respective companies started cranking them out(isuzu offered a 4x4 luv version starting in '79, nissan in '80? '81??)
