Hello,

Could someone assist.  on oil pump, is gasket dressing needed on oil ring for good seal?

I've been applying grey silicon in the past, but way messy.  i would rather apply nothing on oil ring if good seal can still be obtained.

What are u guys applying? if anything?

Thanks in advance,

Ernest

I use grease to hold it in position and remember to pack the seal groove with grease as well. Always hand sand the yoke of the pulley with 400-600 grit sand paper. This will help the seal to lap in.

what about the front main seal is that what you are taling about sanding the crank snout so it does not leak again?

He is talking about the snout on the pulley, not the crank, that is where the seal rides
