Suspension Seats
« on: Oct 04, 2004, 06:55:51 PM »
I got an 86 4Runner, seats are old as hell, just wondering if anyone knows of some good suspension seats for the yota or is my only real choice the seats from motorcraft?

I found a pair of perfect reclining cloth buckets out of an SR5 Xcab in a junkyard for $150.Straight bolt in to to replace the vinyl bench in my 87.Sold the bench to a buddy for his 81,my 87 bench was a straight bolt in on his truck too.Total cost for me,$100.

I had Corbeau seats in my 69 Bronco,$150 each new, which is cheap for a suspension seat.Good points-they are comfortable, hold you in place really well offroad, and work better than stock seats if you use race harnesses. But there are 3 drawbacks to suspension seats,1-they are difficult to get in/out of because of really high side bolsters,2-they suck if you have "wide" friends who can't fit into them,3-unless you buy the seat maker's vehicle specific brackets, you'll have to make/adapt your own.
