fuel gague wiring help

 :shocking:   im redoing my dash  and my fuel gauge is reading wrong .the autometer gauge reads 3/4 tank my stock reads empty, ive got 5 inchs  of fuel in the tank about 1/4 of a tank. ive read on here about the something about oms being different can i fix this problem or am i just out of luck.

Your autometer guage is probably set up for a GM sending unit.  There might be some sorta modification with resistors, if you find one let me know.

i think its the way i got it wired .took the stock gauge out of the cluster and wired it  like the autometer and it read the same thing, but i put it back in the cluster and it goes back to normal. hot wire,ground wire  and the sending unit wire its yellow with a red stripe, whats different in the cluster?
