So I am completely new to the whole yota thing and I have to give you guys  cause you guys have some sick rigs! Iam a converted jeep guy and I was in the middle of a 1970 jeep wagoner build, when this 83 yota fell in to my lap. I have some things I am going to incorporate into making this yota into what I want well I have D44 and D60 both disc a set of 63'' and 44044's and some 40'' groundhawgs and dual cases . O the yota has 35's, 5:29's welded rear and lunchbox front, yota t-case, th350 and a 283,winch. The only thing I needed to do to wheel is buy a brand new yellow top on the way out to the trail head and the only way I had to keep it in place was two ratchet straps they broke and the battery slid into the header and melted

Here is some pics just after I bought it. This is a truck and that topper is coming off!!!

some day Ill fill out all my info...

That is one of the cleanest first gens i've seen. I think those fender flares need to go along with the topper though, and finally somebody running groundhawgs. I've been dieing to find out how they perform. My dad said he had a set a long time ago that he liked.
Bobbed 84 xtra cab, pickin up parts as I go.

If at first you do not succeed, put it in 4low and try again.

Thanks.

I was thinking the same thing about the flares. I like the mud to fly when needed..

I have not ran them on a rig yet but my cuz ran a pair and they are bad as

I wouldn't mind getting the front fender flares, if you take them off.     NICE TRUCK    and GROUND HAWGS pull like all hell, but are tough on axles   (from experience)  lol

83yotachad

just the front? what ya give for em?

good thing you have wider axles to install, that thing would tip over real easy the way it is now. first gens are real skinny on stock axles!

DOOD!

In the picture it looks like the back of the cab is cut out?

TREKKER? or am i just seeing things?

mudmaster

Looks like a Trekker to me
Time to go wheelin!

gmack192

no problem      your truck does look like some kind of "TREKKER" conversion     rare

83yotachad

:headscratch: This trekker you all are talking about is that something that Toyota had in production or is it a after market conversion ? The mod on big blue looks like it came as a kit especially the way the cab and bed come together with the fiberglass on the floor an the way the platform is pop riveted along the bed. I ll get some pic's of the interior later .

By the way it sounds the owner of this sold it late 07 early 08 it disappeared and then a built one was seen for a bit then it disappeared.... I just bought mine late Nov early Dec of 08 so their might be a link their and this might be my truck before it was moded...... I guess I need to look into the vin to see where all min has been I know mine came from Spokane Wash.

Tell ya one thing it sure is nice to have a floor in my garage I have lived in my house about 4 yrs and the people before
