Back from California!!!! (update 3/19/09)
« on: Mar 05, 2009, 08:55:39 PM »
I'll have the van all loaded up for Fresno!!   :driving:   :willynilly:

Gonna visit MarlinCrawler for front axle rebuild parts and anything else the wife won't know I'm buying!   :shhh:
And visit with family, 4THEWKN's, and then on to Disneyland with them.  It'll be nice to be in California and not be 100* plus!  :yikes:

So, we are excited!  I really wish I could get some guys together for a run, but it would be to weird without Dean there for me.

I'll see ya guys later!!

If ya see a silver chevy venture minivan, with oregon plates wave at me!!  I wish I could put  :turtle: on it, but the wife would kill me!

I do some of mine with magnetic backings, not only can you move them from vehicle to vehicle but you can preserve them by taking them off when you are not using your rig.

Oh yeah, and good luck on your trip, have fun.

Well, here's some pics for now!

Mt. Shasta

Where we stayed in Fresno!!

And the non heated pool.  BRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

I wasn't crazy enough to get in 55* water.  And if you look closely, I had to show the boys how to use the lawn mower!!   :shake_head:  I drive 13.5 hours to mow some lawn!!

And if your reading this Bigmike, I know where you live!!  Moooohaaahaaa!!!

And after visiting Marlin and buying some parts from them, and I ended back at the shop later with Marlin, and Budking, who was a awesome guy.  I bought some axle shafts from him, sorry no pics yet!  And Marlin put on some seals for me.  For FREE!!!  And he certified the birfs for us.

And on to Disneyland!

And yes that is LaDawna, Dean's (4thewkn's) widow.  She looked really happy and doing good.  It was the best time she had in a long time.

Yes, A for Andrew

My daughter had lunch with the princess's

I didn't want ears, but the wife got me some that say, "The Big Cheese"  :shake_head:

And Val's family, LaDawna, Toni, and Steven

There are alot of more pics but, I'm gonna stop now!!

Ok, I lied!  I have to finish some more of the trip.

We left Disneyland, and I thought it would be awesome to stop by La Brea Tarpits!  The boys loved it!!

And just out in the yard there was asphalt oozing out of the ground in random spots!!  Including the sidewalk.

And here's Pit 91, the one that Mike Rowe visited on "Dirty Jobs."

And then we followed mapquest to get back to I-5 and we went through Hollywood, and that was the scariest driving we endured during the good weather.
I think we almost got hit by a Porsche, Tahoe, Cadillac, and a VW bug all in less than 2 blocks!! :yikes:

And the drive back to home was really good from Fresno to Redding, really light traffic and good weather.  And then from Redding to Eugene, holy crap!!!  The rain and wind was the worst I had to drive through in a really long time.  I didn't dare take a hand off the wheel or my eyes off the road for a split second.

But it was smooth sailing after that, but some of us got to sleep a little!  I'm still lacking in some sleep.
