« on: Mar 01, 2009, 05:41:07 PM »
A&G Motorsports jeepspeed team races in the Jeepspeed Challenge.  We race Best In The Desert and the M.O.R.E. series.  Car #1714 is the 2 time defending Jeepspeed class champions winning the series in 2007 as well as 2008.  Ray Griffith is our driver with his father Todd Griffith the co driver.  We look forward to 2009.  Here's a few pics

Nice!  It surprises me sometimes how hard those things get driven and keep going.

Its all in how well the car was built and how it is prepped.  And a good driver of course.  We bought our car from Currie.  He had built it for his son Casey Currie.  He drove it for a few years and was ready to move on to something else so we ended up buying the car.  Its a very well put together race car, and the driver Ray and us crew guys spend LOTS of time at the shop prepping the car to get it ready for each race.  Lots of long nights but its all worth it when your on the podium.  Were a family run operation so its a great way to spend time with each other in the desert.  If you ever get a chance to make it out to a race do it.  Its a great time.  Look for our jeep come by have a

Jeepspeed is a series of their own.  Its usually 3 Best In The Desert race and 2 M.O.R.E. races.  This year we run Parker, Primm and Henderson with B.I.T.D. and Lucern and Barstow with M.O.R.E..  Our next race is Primm Terribles Town in April.  Its at Buffalo Bills casino in state line.  We'll be there wednesday to sunday.  But we usually run Vegas to Reno just for fun since its such a great event

Ray's good.  Just turned 21 the other day.  Not a kid anymore.  Busy workin on the jeep all the time.  He went with us to King Of The Hammers last weekend to help us pit for Jody Everding.  He says he's goin with us to t.d.s. this weekend.  He did win that M.D.R. race he won it last year too.  Last year it was a night race, not sure if it was in 07.  He also did win the championship in 07 as well as 08.  Were on the lookout for a class 1 or a protruck soon.  Clive told us we can only win 3 in a row.  Ha ha.  He's gotta put that talent to use, i think he will just fine in whatever he decides to move on too

Almost got the car all prepped for Best In The Deserts Terribles Town 250 in Primm. Plan on doing a shakedown run this Thursday in barstow. Race date is April 18th. We will get there either late Wednesday or early Thursday. If anyone out there in  :turtle: land wants to go cruise out. Maybe help us pit or something. We have enough guys but the more the better. Also if anybody is racing good luck to you and be safe and have fun. Keep it rubber side down

Yea there usually is a few at non jeepspeed point races. Usually testing their stuff or just dont like the jeepspeed challenge series in general whether it be to much travel or whatever reason. Their usually class 17 or 1700 class. Mint400 isnt that SCORE? I'm not sure anymore. I know it used to be. I have not made it out to the mint in probably 15 years. If it is SCORE then yea they were in 1700 class jeepspeed or maybe stock mini

Just got home from the Best In The Deserts Terribles Town 250 in Primm. We won our class 1700 Jeepspeed by about 6 minutes. No big problems just a little coil issue that we fixed and the car ran great. No flats or nothin good clean race. Time to start gettin ready for the next race Barstow Freedom 250. The night race. Always hot but fun

I don't know how to link you up but if you go to tracksidephoto.com and click at RACES on the top and then just search GRIFFITH there are about 100 good pics of the car at all races we ever attended

Well i can't belive it actually happened but i am proud to say that we are getting ready to move on from jeepspeed. We bought a 08 jimco class 1 car from Strobel Motorsports yesturday and it is BAS A$$!!!! Absolutely beautiful car with only 4 races on it. The plan now is to finish the 09 jeepspeed season(2 more races) and get lots of seat time in the 1 car. I think the kid is gonna do a great job in this thing. Although its gonna be a long road ahead of us. Being pretty good buddies with the Wilsons(Wilson Motorsports) is gonna be a huge help to lend us a hand and advice as they race multiple class 1 cars. Can't wait to tackle this thing. We are headin to vegas this weekend with the car to meet up with the guys from Strobel as they are gonna be there for vegas to reno next week to get a good once over on the car and a few pointers as we do some testing so i'll try to get some pics next week

Just got back from testing the car with Strobel here's a few pics

The car ran good. Towards the end of the day we did have a little issue though. The power steering pump blew completely apart and caught the car on fire. It didn't;t hurt to many parts so far it looks like it's just an alternator, 2 coil packs, plug wire a few wires and cosmetic. Welcome to class 1

JIMCO boxed rear arms with 28 inches of wheel travel

Fire bottle system with nozzles

There's way more i could go on forever

Also with the deal we got tons of spare parts

Nuts and bolts ( the whole car is grade 9 aircraft )
Pretty much a 28 ft. enclosed full of stuff, everything we need to rock and roll

Can't really think of anything else right now. If I left something out hit me up I'll get back with you

Steve Strobel finished 2nd in class 1 and 5th overall at the 07 Baja 1000 in this car. They sold it cause he got a 09 JIMCO Trophy Truck
