Man, I am inbetween my night classes right now and I must get some homework done, but I thought I would check things out and the forum is all messed up at the moment

Looks like the server is back up but I am supposed to be in class right now so I have to leave and won't be back for at least 2 more hours.

I didn't do anything last night, so the search must still be down.

Hey Big Mike -- this is Stocker -- for some reason, I am logged in as kneedownnate, and I am unable to log out and log back in under my own username. He has used my computer before, but not in quite a while.

This is the first time this has happened, and if it matters, I have been unable to access the site for the past day or two.

Mike, this issue still hasn't been fixed and we're both growing a little tired of it. Please do whatever you have to do, force a logout from his isp or whatever you said, but please just actually do it!

Go to internet options and clear all your cookies.
That will force your browser to logout.
It seems to me like a cookie or session problem, so it's basically your computer being at mistake here, not the forum or the server

Liroy is correct.

Nate, I looked into a forced logout through the database and it is not an option. I spent about 30 mins on Friday researching this and had to leave (I only work half days on Fridays). I have not had time to help you at all.

Liroy's suggestion will work but please be advised you will loose all of your cookies which means you will be logged out of every site you frequent with that computer.

Again, the problem is on stocker's end, not mine. I may be wrong, but I think he already tried clearing his cookies and it still came up as me being logged in on his computer instead of him, which is kinda odd since I log in on IE while there so he doesn't have to log off on firefox, and he's only using firefox. When he tries to log off it just bounces right back on under my name. Is there possibly a glitch in your system because it's seeing the same last name registered for us both?

FYI I have noticed that sometimes myself and Rocks For Brains will try to vote on a poll. I have individual usernames and security on my system and if he uses this computer he cannot vote or I can't if one or the other has voted. It will show that he or I have already voted even though one hasn't. We have never had Kneedownnates issue but the bulletin board does recognize that the ip address has voted and won't let him or I vote individually using our separate board names. He can then log in on his laptop and vote, so there may be something about the ip address and the board.

I was completely unable to logout (and at a total loss to explain how I got logged in as Nate in the first place

), so I took Liroy's advice and cleared my cookies.

That did the trick, I am once again myself!

Hmm. I am pretty sure Polls are tracked by user account and not user IP. In fact, the forum doesn't single out IP as a means of tracking users. I can track a user by his name just as well as I can by his IP (IP address holds less value than you'd think).

I will *try* to play around with the poll system later today..

Glad it was sorted!

The poll problem is very odd.
I believe this forum version does not have the same anti-cheat systems built in as a current RC version, since that one, as far as I understood, sets a cookie.

However, if you login under a total different username on the same computer, then it should not show this error.
If it's the same user account, then that would be a possible problem.
I kind of doubt it though so dont take this as the cause of the issue, it's simply a possibility.
