Twins
« on: Feb 17, 2009, 06:54:21 PM »
Heres my first twin build.

Although they worked like a charm, they are not completely sealed.  The were great keeping the elements out and oil on but, the seals would not work submerged or upside down.

Sorry, I cant afford a Marlin kit, but I have the tools.

So I made twins #2

I still have the finishing touches, to do.  I need to bead blast the base and paint it.  The rest is stainless so, no paint needed  !  I need to mount the top cover via / screws.  I also need to put a small bend in the shift levers.

Nice work...on the shifter and the little cutie!

Done

I need a boot, does anyone know the distance from center of stick to center of stick of Marlins twin stick ?  If it works out I would like to buy the boot he offers.  There are other boots, but I wont ask here.

Much appreciated.

I won't sell them cause they take to much time to make.  If I had CNC equipment, and the proper punch press then the game is on.  I would not sell them here though.

Thanks a bunch.  Rear axles are great, never had a problem, they looked great when I was in there last time.  I anticipate needing birfields soon.

Nice work
There is a bunch of time there.

I dont beleive my boot will not work due to the width and height.

Its a top, and I just did it on the fly.  I dont have anything to copy off of.  The only measurements are from my  stock shifter.

Ok I had to modify the twins sticks, and bend them a little so the body won't hit them.  I think the Marlin boot will fit now, maybe he will just send one to me cause its my birthday

Ok, I needed bling knobs, these are maybe too bling.  Some billet, a lathe, some 0-rings (thanks Ed for his old school idea), and an art guy who loves to do vinyl stickers.  We made these.

Notice the the Chevy Badge (read my sig), it was a toss-up between Toy and Chevy.

Now to patch the tunnel, get a boot and make a cover for the whole area.
