I reinforced the back corners with 1x1.  And then i welded a piece of 1 3/4 inch round tube fron the rock slider to the flatbed right behind the cab.  I can't take pictures becasue my mom has the camera and she won't be back untill friday.  Tomarrow i have a little grinding to do and then i can work on my mud flaps.

looks good, using expanded steel for the bottom would save alot of weight. You should make a resesed (sp) tool box, so the floor of your bed is its lid.  That would be cool.  Disco did that to his, works great.

I am not afraid of weight right now.  It is sitting higher in the back right now then it was with the other bed.  I need more weight so it's not as stiff.  I have thought about using more diamond plate to make a tool box but that will be later.  Today i made my quick-disconnect mudlfaps at school.  they look  :stopit: but they are legal.  I still need to make a top fender well type thing to go over the tire that will attach to the mudflaps.  So i can take them off when i get to the traill also.  I still can't get any pictures, saturday will most likely be the day for them.  I need to smog my truck on saturday too.  Hopefullyi t passess.  I am going to Merchies in Georgetown since it is the closest and cheapest.  Hey G-town, did you know Merchies is for sale?  I heard it is up for $600,000.  Thats gonna suck.

hyena I never took any auto at Golden Siberia, Mr. Schmit is a crack up though, Mr. schmit voice on "stupid babies"  voice off.  Do you know Jesse Duarte?  He has a flat be project going.  Very cool.  If you drive down Church st in Georgetown you can see my new jeep in front of Lukes Elliotts house, and my beat toyota on the corner of church and school, it will be like looking at your toyota in 2 or 3 years. Murchies is rad, I would buy it, if I couuld get a loan that big, and open a fab shop :beerchug:  Please dont make your flat bed ugly like jareds.

He actually hasn't said "stupid babies" in a while.  He also says "go back to freakin first grade"  It is so funny.  I have seen Jesse's flatbed.  He told me that all he has to do it put the floor boards on it and it will be done.  Have you seen his truck lately?  It is one big dent, but it is awsome.  And I actually took the design of my flatbed from Jared.  I am not going to paint it orange though like he did.  And i am not going to use wood for the floor.  Today I welded on peices of chain cut in half for tie down points.  I am trying to find things to do so i don't have to buy the diamond plate, i want to wait for that last.  But i still have to make mounts for the gas tank filler and i still have to spry paint it.  I was thinking black, or maybe tan like the color of my truck.

Gtown

sweet man, keep up the good work.  ply-wood does work really well if you get the 1 in and do it right.

I mounted the gastank filler nozzle today.  Yesterday i put another crossbrace to support the diamond plate.  It is made from the last of my 1x1.  I might to to the steel shop tomarrow to find some scrap metal and to see what the prices are for diamond plate.  I might even see if they will build the flatbed cage for me.

Dont you think those mudflaps are a little long, they look like tire dresses  :ack:

I don't really care.  I don't think the cops will pull me over for not having mudflaps anymore though.  I will take them off when i wheel it.

Hyena

I was wondering where you were.  Hope you get better soon.

Here is the metal for the frame at the back.  It is going inside the frame so i can mount my new brake lights that i still have to get.  4 feet of 2x3x1/4 inch.  I only wanted .120 wall but this is all they had.  It costs about $20, i didn't have the money so they said i could pay them next week.

Hyena

Thank you.  I didn't make it, it came on the axle when i bought the axle.  All it really is is a 9 inch pipe cap cut in half,  and a notch cut out.

Mike D

The flatbed sure i looking heavy duty you could take on a semi in reverse  :driving:
