I wasn't sure which forum to put this in so I put this here.

Yesterday I came home from work and parked across the street from my truck. I noticed a red early 80's Toyota 2wd pickup with a bunch of landscaping tools in the back look and see my truck and pull up and park. I stay in my car to see where they are going. 2 Latin males get out of the truck and proceed to the passenger side of my truck. One goes past it and looks around while the other comes up and starts scoping the truck. I open the door to my car and the guy doing look out gets startled. He comes towards me and asks if its my truck. I said yes. He asked me if its for sale. I said nope. I am watching his friend and he continues to eye the truck. The guy talking to me asks if I know anyone that is selling a truck like that. I said no. He said he is combing the neighborhood looking for a truck like mine. I just looked at him. He says thanks and gets in his truck and takes off. There is an 89' pickup down the street that they pull over near and start looking at that one. Needless to say I took some precautionary measures for my truck.

The purpose of this thread is to inform you that there may be some people interested in stealing Toyota's or parts off them. There has been a rash of catalytic convertor thefts in the Peninsula/West bay area (San Carlos, Belmont, Redwood City.) I may be paranoid but I don't like people casing my truck or my property. I let my landlord know about what happened and told her to keep her eye out since she works from home. They may have honestly be interested in buying a truck like mine, but you can never trust people nowadays.

You may be paranoid, but it's for good reason.  I woulda snapped pics of them and their license plates, and if they asked why I'd just say some bs like "so I know how to get a hold of you if I decide to sell".
