what can i do to a 85 AUTO TRANY to make it better

need help just got a 85 4x4 auto. the trany seems weak :headscratch: :help: :brick:

Ok, it's pretty easy. First you'll have to drain the tranny, then unbolt the drive shafts, then the bell housing, then your almost there. Once you have the tranny removed give it to the scrap yard.....pay them to take it if you have to. Imediatly replace with a five speed. All done!
Honestly I don't know of anything that will help a toy auto. They all seam pretty gutless especially behind a four banger. A fresh rebuild might help. If your running bigger than stock tires changing the ring and pinions will help a lot, but still won't feal like the power of a manual.

I've known three people with three different auto trucks and they all had the same complaints

one had his rebuilt four time the other had it done twice and the third sold his really soon after he got it because of the tranny

all three trucks were toyota's of the 86-88 generations so thats all i can tell you

I do know the swap is do-able. as for other year models I can't speak
too much spent to go slow
too much spent to stay low
too much spent on the go
but it's fun you know
