I found a 97 ext cab short bed (not 4door) f-250 with 165000 miles on it for $5000. It has a lift and 35in bfg ATs. Power everything, 5spd, 4inch turbo back exhaust. I haven't looked at it yet but on paper it sounds sweet.

Is this a good truck? I don't want to buy something and regret it. Any thoughts are welcome. Even if it is Hell NO!!!! lol I dont have a lot of knowledge when it comes to the Power Stroke. So any info is welcome as well. Fuel hog, etc. Thanks Cody

Sounds good to me i've got 300k on mine and it runs as good as my 03 that has a 190k just make sure they kept up on the maintenance.

sounds like a very good truck. 7.3L powerstroke is an excellent motor, thirsty for a diesel but powerfull and reliable.

I would just check for blow by and if there is a lil oil on the valve covers that is normal but you dont want it running all over the place just a couple things i would look for.

I have never really seen it up close
looks good from what I have seen.

I'd go for it.  I've got a couple buddies with very similar trucks, and they're very happy with them.  Once has an auto, and one has a 5spd, and the one with the auto says thats the only thing he'd change.  :gap:
