Kinda neat knowing what people do...

I am a civil engineer and I work for caltrans (no I am not the guy holding the shovel on the side of the road). I designed several roadway realignments in the sacramento area and beyond.

For the last year I have been traveling througout the state training people on the cadd software, but I just switched positions so I don't have to travel. Graduated from CSU Sacramento, etc etc.. I have done a lot of work at www.pirate4x4.com know as the webslave, started www.RiverCityRockCrawlers.com, helped get snort4x4 going, as well as many other club and personal sites - web addict in other words..

i'm a machinist for a medical device company in Hayward.(soon going to a new company in redwood city)  i have been working for "start up" companies for the last 7 years.  i mainly machine stainless steels, plastics, and some exotics like titanium weird stuff like magnets, ceramic, NiTi.  i run a 2 1/2 axis and the rest are manual. for making prototypes.  i don't machine much production.  just proof of concept stuff.

as far as my education goes.  i have some vocational training.  and am still in the process of getting a GE at junior college.  is going slow but will be finished.  my wife is going to school more right now.(teacher)  when she is done i will hit it harder.
here's a pic of the shop i work in now.

I'm the Marketing Services Coordinator for Neenah Foundry Company in Neenah WI.  (Check your tree grates and manholes/inlets)  Pretty much catalog/brochure design, ad layout and such, website development, trade show setups, and more.

My personal site is http://www.ih8mud.com, plus I've got a few club sites I keep track of, including my Cruiser club and the Wisconsin state 4wd site. I also edit the W4WDA newsletter and my club newsletter.

And I built my junk myself from a frame....good or bad as that may be....heh  See http://woody.ih8mud.com for details...site desparate for an update, but you get the idea...

Professional Bumm. I travel the country with hopes that someone will bring me in and give me a place to sleep, and a little to eat.  It's a bonus when I get to go 4 wheeling too.

When I'm not doing that I'm saving up money at my Union Electrician job to pay for gas and parts. Sometimes I even get a little extra money to pay for air fare and lift tickets.

Now I am working on a new power plant. So I sped 10 hours a day, 6 days a week waiting for upper management to give me the info and parts or permits needed to do a 20 min job.  :thud: But I have a big fan that I got them to get me to stay cool while I'm sitting on my bucket waiting.

SQL DBA for small bankrupt utility in CA.

I live in Healdsburg and have a satellite office in Geyserveille, about 5 minutes from home.  That's the best!!!

I was one of the co-founders of PMC, now the largest Chapter Club in TLCA at 160 Members.  While I started out in Land Cruisers, I have gone over to the dark side and now predominantly wheel my 82 Hilux and am searching for a trail ready 4Runner.  I create the club newsletter each month also... a never ending job.

For the last 3 years, I have managed to get in a ton of wheeling each year including Moab, Fordyce, Rubicon, SlickRock/Deer Vally, Dusy Ershim, Swamp Lake, McGrew Trail (cancelled this year due to fires), Barrett Lake and many local smaller runs such as Mendo Ntl. Forest, Cow Mtn, Hollister and other local haunts.  Oh, and the grand finale for us will be a week at the Hammers in October.

I have also lent flop space and food to wayward professional bums who are on wheeling tours (Those Guys - Paul Elbisser and Chris Fryman).

Next year, I am supposed to curtail the amount of wheeling I do and focus more on family ventures:  Hawaii, and Gold Lake for a week.   ;)  Of course, I'll be at the MCR3 and try to bring even more stuff for the raffle.

and sorry to ramble on, but I must admit, I've met a ton of great folks in this sport.  and of course, I've forgotten the names of even more.   :ack:

take care...

I'm a commercial illustrator and 3D model builder. I've done work for Warn, Eccell, Bridgestone/Firestone, NFL, NHL, Upjohn, Ga Pacific, Johnson/Evinrude, Kellogs, Marlin Crawler...  It's a lot of fun most of the time. I do mostly technical work like cutaways or product illustration but also do 3D models for animation and cartoons of Toyota 4Xs.

I joined the TLCA in the 80s when there were about 450 members. Was a Cruiser guy long before I bought a Mini but love 'em both.

Married 17 years, two daughters, 11 and 14. Nashville, TN

Harbor Freight Tools retail, Camarillo, CA.

I'm the only one there that actually knows about our products.  I've tought about a dozen people to weld in the last year alone.  They keep coming back asking for advice.
I also get to see a lot of nice Land Cruisers.

Probably not. The cutaway I did was quite some time ago. The one you saw was most likely a newer model.
