FIREBALL

Damn, that would go great with my gear set #001.

DontStall Rockcrwl

its nuts how big this thing is... at least 3 times the size of the dual case adapters now... at least it looks 3 times as big

Heck, you could start a Marlin Crawler museum with all of those. I always wondered who had the first ones.
Do you have a picture?

Ya, would look good on the wall, but wouldn't be the best choice for using anymore.

WHITE_TRASH

Do you have any pics of it??  Im wondering if it is a solid plate, or the multi piece like the Ice crawler.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

DontStall Rockcrwl

my buddy said he would sell me both cases, and the adapter and front and rear drivelines for 600 bucks... should i go for it?

DontStall Rockcrwl

well it will all fit im positive... i have a choice wether to go 4.7's in a single case or stock dual cases
You have all gotta be jealous how close i live to the 'Con

reklund5

stock duals is WAY better than a single 4.7, in my opinion.  It gives you way more options, while having only a single 4.7 is sometimes too low/too slow.  The advantage is that you won't have any driveline or floorboard mods with the single though.  I've got dual stockers, and now I want a 4.7 in one of them...  It never ends!

Do you have the first MC 01?
Back in '96 I did not put numbers on the very first Iceland crawlers. They were 2 piece and the plates were 10 1/2" long. I still have the first unit that was in my truck at the shop.

Or the MC 03?
6 1/2" long. I designed this adapter to work with the carborated, forward shift t/case. These were numbered, but I only sold 37 plates and discontuined it in '98. It was a slow seller due in part to the long length, the heavy main shaft that only had one support bearing, and spline problems because the manufacture did not get the proper spline length. I would need to look in my book to find out who got the first unit.

Or the current MC 05/MC 07?
2 1/2" long. Numbers 1 and 2 went to two very upset customers in the Sacramento area around Fair Oaks. They had both bought MC 01's from me but had driveshaft problems and demanded that I give them MC 05's. I drove 4 hours north to their house and delivered the very first adapters. They flat refused to pay me and would not give me the old MC 01's in return. I voided the unpaid receit and to this day, still to not know who the two ungrateful jerks were :moon:
#003 when to a great customer, Sam Silvera, who lives in the Bay area and had it in a white '79 p/up untill he built his trick Slinky truck.

Marlin

Those were back in the old days when I was constanly waiting to get product from AA.
The NV4500 trans was hot news and AA was busy adapting it to everthing.
I knew that I had something in the Marlin Box, but getting my suppler to see my vision was another thing.

I was going against the Jeep Eater that was made in Sacramento [it was similar to the Inchworm in design that requires an inside out compicated assembly and was never avaibable in 23 spline] and they were selling the complete unit for $1249.00. I was selling my adapter for $649.00 and the complete unit for $899.00.

Those two bone heads wanted to buy a Jeep Eater and I was to pay the differance. They waited for me and my supplier to get the mold and casting done.

This was something that I just had to let go by.

Brandon

I remember when Chris was selling the Jeep Eater, and I remember wanting the marlin crawler seeing both of you guys at Sierra Trek. I ened up getting crawler #89 which I uptraded for my current 23 spline 05 (I think it is an 05). I never had any probs with the original, only uptraded to go 23 spline behind my 5.0 which has powered it though trails all summer. Best  :twocents: ever spent on my truck!

Actually I think it was one of the bolts that hold the caliper on but honestly I can't remember for sure but I remember you fixed my driveline that was "out of phase" as well. I will be sure to say hello to the family, we are looking forward to our new baby girl due in the beginning of October- just trying to figure out how to fit all these people in my truck! I remember you stopping by my place on the way back from rubithon or something with your family in your truck and you picked up a 22r block ;)

Yes Brandon, you are correct, I recall putting a caliper 12 x 1.25 mm heli coil thread in a knuckle for you.

Back then, I had a pair of rear seats from a '76 FJ40 mounted under the rollbar. Both Chrystal and Michael grew up 4 wheeling, sitting back there.

Wishing your wife a healthy, speedy delivery.

It seems that this guy (Marlin) has alot of history with alot of people and has no problem doing customer service face to face. Got to love the good old respect that has come few and far between.
