take your pic, they all require the same amout of spring moving, steering fabrication...ect. i would recomend that if you are going to go through all the trouble do it right the first time and get 1 tons, because you likely will wish you had later.

also, skys off road here in oregon make parts so that these axles (GM) BOLT RIGHT IN!

it it where me i would get a pair of 60's or a 60 ft amd 14bolt rear.
a dana 44 ft can be built strong, but in the end would cost a ton.(i built one on my 85 that ran 40s, but cost me 4k)

good luck

I also taught him how to put in 5min of hard work and then spend 15min staring and admiring what you have done...

I did a 60 front and 14 rear.  My rear 14 bolt cost 150 initially and my 60 cost 500 for the Dually version.  Keep in mind that if you can't find hubs for a 60 you can buy them through ORD for 250 per side.  I got 1000 bucks in my 60 making it SRW and that's still cheaper than the going market price.  And Dually 60's almost always came with 4.56 gears!  Go 1 ton from the start, that's where your gonna end up anyways.

ahmen with the 60's i was a little worried with the weight them things are heavy.i had been concidering a 9 in the back and a 44 front with ctm's i had that setup on my 68 bronco eventhough i had problems with both the bronco had a lot more power and weight

The 60's are pretty damn heavy...if you pick the front of my truck up at the frame and lift it the pumpkin side leaf spring droops about 2-3 inches more than the other side.  My old toy axles couldn't ever do that.  Just too light of an axle.  One has to wonder sometimes when you can lift an entire axle housing by yourself on a workbench.
