Happy Halloween everyone!

I was wondering if any of you had seen the original 1973 Exorcist movie?   If you haven't it was an extremely eerie movie that was based on a true story and a subsequent real exorcism.

Anyway, the real story from which the movie was based happened in 1949 took place in my home town of St. Louis, MO and happened to a boy (a girl in the movie) originally from Maryland.  Many of the events in the movie actually happened and it happened partly in a home in Belnor, MO (a suburb on St. Louis) and partly in a wing of the Alexian Brothers Hospital.  The entire wing of the hospital was sealed off after the exorcism took place and was eventually torn down.  The hospital is still open today but that whole wing is long gone.  The house however still exists today and its location was a well kept secret until recently when the owner decided to start renovating after 60 years.

A local radio show here did a halloween show with some volunteers and the show staff took a tour of the house and the events were quite interesting.  The host of the show is a big paranormal fan and has always been scared of the movie so it was a natural for his annual show to take place in the house when they had it offered to them.  I don't necessarily believe in ghosts but if you believe in god by definition you have to believe in satan which makes this a interesting story.

Here is a link to the radio shows pics from the recent visit to the house.  There is some audio you can listen to also.

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

Your Mother Sews socks that smell!

When I saw the commercial for the first time...I was in the basement watching tv (3 channels) at about 3am. Just as she was just about to go into the head-spin routine, there was a huge flash of blue-white light...then darkness. I almost soiled my drawers. I sat there, in the dark, for a couple of minutes...scared of what I might bump into if I moved. Then I saw flashing lights through the window...it turns out, some inconsiderate pecker head ran into a utility pole and took out the power for my block.

I lived in DC at the time the movie came out. Some friends and I got pasted and went down to the long steps and the house.

I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.
