well I am thinking. and that doesnīt happen werry often but still....
I have never been to the u.s. so tell me what I am missing.
lets compare the difference between Icelandic offroad and U.S.A
For starters.
hopefully 99% of the trucks here are street legal, and examined on the tires they are going to be driving on. for an examble my truck is street legal for 39,5" but now I am on 44" so basicly I aint street legal... but letīs not worry about that right now.
1
our steering. we canīt weld on anything that consernes the steering, if we do we have to have it x-raed, and have a certificate for that part.... there fore ewerything in the steering is threated, and if I use arms from marlin or pitman arm from something aftermarked. I have to get an certificate....
2.
bedlocks. are street legal,
I havenīt heard about any problems with the guyīs that made theyr own kits, but the ones sold and installed by the proffesionals here are way way how to say... Itīs worth the money...
3.
the are no closed trails (trails that you can drive a truck thatīs not street legal. there are tho formula offroad, and these guyīs have some places to test and train but thatīs a complete different ballpark.
4.
for street legal. we nead to have mud flaps, and the flaps must be long and wide enaugh to catch anything that the tire throws at it. I think it is to an angle of 30-40°
and fender flares are a must. wide enaugh to cover the tire threats
5.
trailers are never used under a truck unless something catastroffic has happened.
