apparently the swapped motor just has to have all the original smog stuff to pass. thats what we were told anyway.....
22RE .30 over, mild cam, K&N, LCE header, 2.25'' pipe, high flow cat, Magnaflow.
Marlin 1200LB clutch

no substitute for 4wheel drive.

what he said... all it needs is the original air cleaner hooked back up. the ptv valve put back in and it should be good...  oh and the heat tube thing from the header to the air cleaner...

California Will not EVER pass a truck with a older motor. The motor must be the same year or newer than the vehical it is installed in.

Thats probley the reason it is not selling. It's usless to anyone who wants to drive it on the road. I did the same swap and ended up parting it out.

Exactly.

man.  i love it when people know what there talking about and love to act like there brilliant.  i will not argue about this.... if you have a flopping brain then look it up on the dmv website.  im not a lying or trying to cheat anyone.  it is a fact that this vehicle is registered and has been refereed and is 10000000000000000000000000000000%  legal.  Yes normally it has to be the same year or newer.   Unless its registered as a custom vehicle.  for the record im not lying and if you want you can look at the truck and take a big long look at the doorjam id# in person!  So if you dont know what your talking about please refrain from opening your mouth. thanks  :)

I called the dmv today and talked with an inspector about this truck.  he said that because this engine was offered in later model vehicles it qualified as a legal motor for this vehicle year.  I was concerned because of the many people that think im trying to pull some kind of trick on people...  anyway he assured me that as long as the truck has been through the referee and smog tagged for that motor there would be no issue for the new owner uppon registration.  this is not smog exempt!  it has to pass the new allotment given to it by the original referee that is printed on the doorjam.  i have the original smog certificate from the previous owner when he had it refereed and smogged.  i understand that its odd that it is legal but to the best of my knowledge it is.

So then wouldn't it have just been easier to say that in the first place? :dunno:

i didnt think i had to prove that im telling the truth.  common sense on this one i guess.... they show up to pick up the truck and theres no referee tag on the door.   Opps sorry dude i was full of :pokinit:.  you think someone is still gonna buy the truck after i lied to them.  cmon people
and like it says in my first post, i didnt build this truck and i made sure it was legal when i bought it.  aside from that my father who is a mechanic for ups and a close friend of our john lampi.  who is an ex police officer both say it is legit.  if i didnt think it was legal i would be selling it for offroad use only.  and even for offroad use only 2100 is dirt cheap for a strait round eye yota.

thegoofster21

just buy the truck or shut it. all you web wheelers just stop. damn!!! $2100 its clean 79 how many can you find that look that nice

Any guy who takes his woman wheeling enjoys her. A woman who is owned is left at home to cook, clean, and keep beer cold. So if this offends you you should stop looking and go have some tacos.    :rofl2: And a beer. If your old enough.   :beerchug:

Too bad you can't get it to the midwest.  I got  $$$$
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
