Auto swap question

I just took the cover off the shifters, and there was a computer I guess with a big plug of wires in the back and about a 3 or 4 wire plug on the drivers side.  What do I do with those, unplug them?  Will there be any need for them? Its an auto efi 85 stadard cab going to a w56.

Unplug them and lose the computer.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??
