Anyone know a good and honest (ha ha I know what ya'll are thinking) mechanic in the Los Angeles Area. Preferably specializes in Toyotas? Kneed to get some routine maintenance that may be a bit more than I can chew e.g. new clutch, timing belt
Thanks

Yo what's up Infernal! yeah, took a little break from wheeling, getting back into it... nice taco buildup man! I've heard good things about Yotamaster's, too bad Corona is a bit far...

Rocksurfer, I'm in westwood so culver city is really close. If you could shoot me a pm, that would be great! Is the guy in culver city the "Landcruiser Guru?" Thanks again guys!  :beerchug:

I know of two guys here - one in La Canada and the other in La Crescenta.  One shop is good for basic repairs and such, though you'll generally have to find/bring your own parts, and the other is more of a technical "why doesn't it work?" type shop with more modern equipment(the one in La Canada).

Oh - I'll add a third - Advance Muffler in Pasadena.  There is no better shop in L.A. for mufflers and the like.

For a timing belt and clutch and so on, I'd recommend the guy in La Canada - he recently took over the shop from the older more greedy guy.  Got me to pass smog for under $100 - he'll tell you if it's worth it or not to fix it as well.  They are also used to older vehicles.(were working on a Stingray the day I was in there, right next to the new Audi.  Not a Toyota specialist, but if it's too new for him to figure out, you're looking at the dealer anyways. (heh)

(not listed online oddly enough and no web site, which is why I listed it here)

The other one is JLR Automotive In La Crescenta.  Did a nice job replacing my front brake rotors(this requires taking apart the entire auto-locking hub assembly - something I can't do).  He also did a fine job on my old Mercedes for several years.

Both are fine mechanics.  Really.
