Congrats to Marlin Crawler and Friends
« on: Aug 23, 2008, 11:30:42 PM »
I just picked up the Oct issue of Petersen's 4Wheel and Offroad. On the cover is Infernal with his 98 Taco, great looking truck, the only problem i have with his spread is that it is 2 pages and it could have gone for a full issue.  Then Marlin and the crew doing a 3rz swap on a beat up truck on PG 42-45.  As always you always do great work and can't wait to get home to start woring on my truck again. This is one of the best issues that cover the toyota, and what they are capable off.  Congrats on the issue and good luck to you all.

I saw they used TAP to source the 2.7... I thought everyone hated them? Anyways, yes a cool issue indeed.

TAP has crappy service, but they have any and all parts you could think of.... When you are a not a normal person with a reputation, i bet you, their service changes quite quickly.....

Congrats guys!!! As far as TAP goes, they think their crap is gold!  Wanted 800 bucks for a USED W56 & t-case!  They do have everything, just waaaaaaaaaaay over priced IMO.

Thanks! I had a great time with that project. Almost everyone who saw it in our shop recognized it from the Ultimate Adventure. "Clampy" belongs to Fred Williams of Petersen's and is a super cool dude. The whole shop got there hands dirty on that one. We plan to offer 2.7 swaps in the near future. We have gathered a large amount of knowledge from complete over 5 3RZ swaps, Number 6 is almost done!

Some info was incorrect regarding TAP in the story. We did get some small items from TAP but they did not gave us or sell us an engine for the project. The 2.7 engine was supplied by us. We have established a few sources for low mileage engines.
Taking back America, one part at a time! :madeinusa:
