AZ FNG checking in

Hi all,I'm new to this board but not new to wheeling.Started out with a 59 Baja bug,built the hell out of it,rolled it and parted it out.Then spent 10 years building my 87 Toyota 4x4 PU,blew the motor at 100k.(Cracked head/hydrolock.)Had an 83 Toyota 4x4 PU after i blew the motor in my 87.The 83 was a 900$ trail pig,fun beater truck,not a single straight body panel.But it had a 3" lift,new BFG 31x10.5 AT TAs,and a cage.I painted it with Home Depot's cheapest house paint and a roller ,it was so ugly,nobody at work wanted to be parked next to it and I sold it for $150 more than I paid for it! ,also had a Chevy ZR2 (Never buy a Chevy)and a 69 Bronco that I wasted a Huge amount of bucks on.
Currently have a 03 Tacoma TRD Prerunner for my DD,that I want to keep mild,but I am working on getting a buddy of mine to sell me his 83 4x4 Toyota for a trail pig.It has a bad tranny and he doesn't want to fix it.Super clean,straight,never wheeled,orig. AZ truck,orig. owner,no rust.68k miles.I'm thinking bobbed bed for sure,and am still thinking about suspension options,I'm sure I'll find some more good info here.
