will a A340F tranny go on a 3vz-e motor in a 1990 pickup

Yes as long as you have the matching 3.0 bellhousing.
Just a side note, the 4 cyl auto trans has a 2.3:1 torque converter whereas the 3.0 came with a 2.0:1 converter.
