wich tranny to run?
« on: Jul 19, 2008, 09:57:03 PM »
so im starting a new project soon and im starting to get parts together. im using all the stuff off my 4runner wich has a 3.o and im gonna be using a 22re. so im not sure if i should keep my 23 spline with the adapter and buy a turbo tranny. or buy a 4 cyl tranny and change the front case to 21 spline. ????? oh and i was wondering will a turbo bell housing bolt up to my 3.0 trans. cuz that would be perfect

if you already have the 3.0 tranny to gear drive adapter,  keep the v6 tranny  and get a turbo bell housing, and bolt the 22re  right up

actually there is the best way to go
as the R150F has a slightly lower transfer low gear, and a think a slightly lower first gear in the tranny then the 22RE trans.

you can, its what 8 or 9 bolts to unbolt your 3VZ-E bellhousing and then bolt the 22RTE Bellhouding on.

sounds lie kthe way to go..... look into changing the clutch while you are in there too, at least look @ it... no sense in swapping out the bellhousing only to have your clutch fail next month.....
