Just seeing if i can get some input from other people. Cab swaps are not the funnest thing to do. It is actually quite annoying. Especially when the cab you have is from a dang 2wd truck and to top it off, its an automatic. I have absolutely no wiring for the 4wd light for the dash in that cab and i have no idea how to run it. And I dont think I have the wiring for the reverse lights either. If someone can help me out or give me a schematic so i can wire it myself? that would be a great help. I am not great in the mechanic side, but I can figure stuff out...thanks.

here are some pics...more to come later. basically its an 84 4x4 solid axle with a 3" lift from....trail-gear. the blue one is an 85 ext cab w an auto, and its also 2wd. its kind of a pain making the swap. but nothing easy is worth having i guess.

ive actually done this exact sawp...except in reverse, i rolled my 2wd and puta 4wd 85 cab on.

you should be able to supply 12v to the plug near the pass seat, and watch the reverse lights come on, if you get the right wire., then just hook that up to the tranny switch

also, 2wd and 4wd harnesses are the same, but autos are different so that kinda sucks. but good luck

yah i got the connection from the cab to the taillights and fuel sending unit hooked up. but the auto tranny had a different style connection. so i think im out of luck for the reverse lights and for the 4wd light, not really important. its close to getting done thank god. its already back on and bolted down, carpet in and stuff, just need to cut the hole on the floor bigger for the shifters and put the motor in and shes ready to rock

here it is with everything bolted down and doors put on

:werd:  Cab swaps can be kinda easy, but 2wd to 4wd or vice versa can suck!  Only cab swap I was gonna do was on a rolled first gen.  I had the 2wd cab and had everything stripped off the 4by, then got a call that my brother was moving soon and everything had to be removed from his house.  I ended up sticking the munched cab back on it, hauling it to my house and parting it out.  It paid off in the end, but I still want to do it some day!
