Topic: 85 4runner How to check trouble codes.

My 85 4runners check engine light came on for the first time when I changed my oil.  I dont know how to check the codes because it dosn't have the usuall crossing terminal by the fuses under the hood.  Also its a 22RE, thanks if you can help.

There are two round plugs on the inside of the drivers side fender. One is bigger than the other. Take a paper clip and bend it like a U and put it into both holes in the smaller plug, turn on the key, but do not start it. And your codes will flash. Hope this helps.

does anyone have the info on how many flashes means what.  i use to have it on my computer, but lost it.
