I have a 94 4runner that used to be an automatic but now it is a manual (w/auto-wiring harness) and i keep throwing 2 codes, the codes i am throwing out are 25 and 26, which are running to lean (25) and running to rich (26).  so my question is how can i be running to rich and to lean at the same time?  it doesnt make any sense.  thanks in advance for the advice guys!!

I would suggest clearing the codes and trying again. I think you can clear the codes by either unhooking the ECM for 10 minutes or pulling out the ECM fuse for 10 minutes or disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. Then drive it and test it again to see if either code comes back up. Other than that, I have no idea what to tell you.

Maybe a bad O2 sensor throwing some weird readings?

that is usually a bad cat or 02 sensor

and it isnt that you are running lean and rich at the same time, but that at some point, it was triggered and detected both conditions

yeah i have checked the O2 sensor and it it reading correctly. so i dont know.  i have cleared the code several times, and it comes back, but i never know when it isnt constant.  and yeah all you have to do it pull the EMC fuse for like 30 secs.  i usually only have it pulled for like 10-15 secs and it still clears it.  yeah i just dont know.  i hate to break down and buy a new 02 sensor when i am pretty sure this one i have is still good.  thanks for the info guys!

check the airflow meter if its malfunctioning it could cause both problems at different times
