I am almost to the point of buying a after market gauge

Sound like you know what you need to do then. I prefer an aftermarket guage in some sircumstances. Temp, and oil pressure are 2 diff places I prefer an accurate guage.

Get some aftermarket gauges, if you get the stock one working it will still be a POS !!!!!!

I got a set of 3 gauges and then work greak I changed the amp meter for a volt meter and I can see whats going on I noticed i have great oil presure untill after it thins out some but nit never drops below 20 lbs and it only needs 10 lbs to get to the top of the heads the volt meter puts out right around 13.5-14.5 and the temp sending unit reads 180* I got it mounted right after the thurmostat that waY i know 1 is my thurmo. dont open. 2 lets me know the temp as well

:headscratch: umm it is in the block there is a place that sits just down and behind the water outlet more like on the side of the waterneck just below the outlet  in that area  and it is where the temp sensor is  I can try to get a pict of it in the next few days
