Your gonna love that 14 bolt.  Stock shafts are good for 44"s, just a heavy axle.  I've heard of a stock 14 bolt shaft have 3 full twists in it before it popped.  I'm ordering that sky kit tomorrow.

this weekend ima be pickin up a 14 bolt at the junk yard.....i have a ? tho will the big ass drums fit around 15in rims or am i goin to have to pick up some 16s or 17s for it

bigarms23

yotakid707

IIRC you can grind enough off the drums to fit 15s. not 100% sure though...

hope you are planning on running 29" slicks on that D44/12 bolt combo because you are going to be spending more money fixing your :pokinit: that it would have ever cost you to build the right thing the first time around.  ask kyle about baby axles.

I test fit my 15's on my 14 bolt with discs and just a few casting marks on the calipers needed to be knocked down.  I hit it with a flap disc and then they fit primo.  Also, are you 100% sure that your 12 bolt and 14 bolt are gonna have the exact same spring perches?  The 14 bolt is a monsterously huge and heavy axle, I don't know what kind of lift your gonna be running but the pumpkin on the 14 is massive compared to the 12.  Just some things to think about.

yea i know the pumpkin is huge on the 14 bolt.... suspention wise on my truck me and my friend are goin to link it with air shox in the rear and im making a front leaf pack that will equal out about 5ins of lift and ima be on 35s till i can save up and get some decent 37s

whats the point of 37s and 1 tons? why bother if your only gonna run that size tire?
