91 4runner t-case questions

91 runner

 I have a 91 4runner 22re with a G58 5 speed i was trying to find out if the transfer case is a gear drive or chain.

it should be a gear driven t-case
88 4runner 2016 5.3 auto atlas 2 on tons and tons of fun

Don't think so.   Most G58's had a chain case.   Toyota used this combo in some higher optioned extra cabs in the 90's even with the 4cyl.  Don't know why.  Dirtoyboy's 93 had this combo originally.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

If you have 7 bolts in the rear cover then you have the gear driven unit.
If you have 5 bolts holding the rear cover then you have the chain drive unit.
