Stock front spring hanger reinforcement
« on: May 13, 2008, 01:47:44 PM »

I am running the stock front spring hangers on my First Gen LB and so far, I have not had any trouble with breakage. The hangers by themselves look pretty weak and prone to breakage.
I need to know if there is any trick to reinforcing the stock hanger either by boxing it, making the outer wall thicker etc. without getting rid of the spring retainer bolt. If  any of you have any pictures it would be  much appreciated.
I've got the most liftedest truck in town, that little jap truck done stand no chance gainst my Chevy. My Chevy gots a V8 more lift an bigger tires, and an exhaust system, whats yer tuna can got, a V4, and them tires look like they is offa Saturn Corulla. The dealer instulled my lift, so ya no its done right, you just try to foller me throo them rocks an see what a reel truck can do.

:D

Mine have started to tear.  I've got this on the workbench waiting to go in, but I also wanted a hair more lift out of the front.

I hope the stock hangers do not break off in one hit.  I noticed them starting to develope hairline cracks.  I'd weld the up and be good to go.  I've also deformed the hanger slightly.  That why i've got the new one on the WB.  (just need to put the darn thing in...  )
