Of all the generic bolt on lift kits out there the best is skyjacker.  They are pretty stiff but 100x's better than the rest hands down.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

I had 4" rear Skyjacker rear springs on my 83. I should've welded solid links to the axle cause thats how stiff the ride was. I say save your money.  :twocents:

My '81 came with Skyjackers and 33's when I bought it.  A friends stock '87 4Runner on stock sized all seasons wheels better other than the lack of clearance.

Don't half ass it.  Save up and spend it once.

I ran the rouch country 3" lift for about 2 1/2 years then switched to the MC 5" trail kit.  Do yourself a favor save for the MC kit you will not be sorry.
