This is just reference, not a "how to".

So, my wires or coils went out on my 2001 4Runner 3.4L
When I called the dealer asking for plug wires, they told me it does not have any.
I was like "yeah right".

It doesn't.

It has coil wires.

The wires have a built in coil and jump from plug to plug.

To change them out you will need:

Inch Pounds torque wrench that will do 69inlbs
5/8" spark plug socket
10mm socket
Phillips tip screw driver
12mm socket
18 inches of extensions (i used 3 6" extensions)
Anti-sieze
Dielectric Grease
Flat head screwdriver

Here is the Toyota part number for the wires: 19037-62010
Here is the Toyota part number for the spark plugs: 90919-01192

Oh, I thought thats what the pics had was small wire going to the coils on the plugs. I guess I am blind.

looking at your pics, the :pokinit: i had in stock is correct, except that I didn't have the 3 boots.  I'll change that on Monday.

looking at it again, it looks like it might be coil on plug, but the coils then have wires that may run to the otehr side of the engine.... so like 3 true coil on plu and 3 with wires from those coils to the other side

Yeah, on the DS there is just the coil at the end of the wire that sits on the plug. On the passenger side it plugs in to the coil/igniter?? or something like that. Anyway, my first time being in a newer engine it took me about 2 hours to get everything out of the way and change it all out, but the thing runs :boobs: now. I do still have the problem with my starter solenoid, but Duffil is going to hook me up with a good price on that. :eyebrow:
