I am a newbie here and saw info regarding death wobble..I just had a freind ship his 83 4x4 1 ton duelly here. I hit a pothole/bump on a local road this past week adn thought the front end was going to fall out. My friend who battled with this truck's death wobble the past 5-7 years changed the drag linkage, stabilizer bar and beefed up the suspension. Only to have the problem surface after the tires wore on the outside edge. Apparently the weight from the diesel and front wheel drive. He just sent me a limk this  is a fairly common problem...even with the newer vehicles..any comments other than changing the tires?? Jim, in Gary, IN

I have the same truck, (almost) 83,chev,4X4 ,duelly, crew cab. Was a diesl but now 350.  check the upper and lower ball joints realy close. then the wheel braerings, and the back lash in the box, last how about the streeing dampner? I gess that  some of this has been changed allready but just check the rest. good luck. will check back latter.
A good day working, that's just sick :reg:
